Private, Family Eco-compound Playa Venao
Description
THE PROPERTY
Five private ocean-view bungalows with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers with great views, and cantilevered terraces are connected by a series of walking trails that wind through thoughtfully landscaped grounds. The bungalows are rustic, screened, and shaded by beautiful trees. Each one is entirely private while offering incredible views of this remarkable Azuero coastline.
The kitchen complex features a large center island with a stainless top and local hardwood cabinets. There is also a raised-bed organic kitchen garden virtually within arm's reach. The covered dining and living area is a large, open-air space that offers ocean views from most angles. In addition to the main living and habitation areas, the property features a sunset-watching pavilion, a yoga and massage deck, caretaker's quarters, a spacious laundry room with a drying and folding area, and a fully equipped metal and woodworking shop where the woodwork and furniture for the site are fabricated by local craftsmen and the staff. All buildings are serviced by solar power, with a diesel generator backup and the entire property is fed by a private water well.

To the east is Achotines Bay (La Playita beach), and the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) Achotines Laboratory forest preserve.
Playa Venao, Canas Bucaro, and Guanico lay to the west with Cambutal just beyond. Both the sunrise and sunset are visible from various seating areas on the property, and all day the view of the Frailes Islands sparkles in the distance.
The surface area of this property measures roughly 5 hectares (12 acres) divided between over 6000 square meters (1.6 acres) of titled, wooded property with roughly 60 linear meters of beachfront on La Playita beach and over 4 hectares (10.5 acres) of wooded, ocean and bay front land owned via rights of possession.
THE BEACHES
La Playita (Achotines Bay): La Playita is perhaps one of Pedasi's best-kept secrets. The beach offers a classic Caribbean feel with calm, crystalline turquoise waters, a white-sand beach, and very few beachgoers. There is one small hotel and two private residences. This protected cove, home to some of the area's only coral reefs, is known as Achotines Bay and the calm waters make it an ideal spot for children, snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddling, and other water activities. La Playita is a great option for a more laid-back, low-key beach experience.
Playa Venao: Playa Venao is best known for its world-class surfing and beachfront nightlife. It has become one of Panama's and Latin America's fastest-growing real estate markets. Over the past 10 years, Playa Venao has gone from a sleepy, largely uninhabited local surf spot, to a bustling center of development and commerce with hundreds of hotel rooms and vacation rentals. Lodging ranges from apartments and condos to single-family homes and luxury villas. Playa Venao also offers amenities such as bars, restaurants, fitness centers, grocery stores, a gas station, and schooling options for families.
PEDASI (30 MINS DRIVE)
The popular town of Pedasi is a small fishing village known for its laid-back atmosphere and traditional Panamanian culture. Visitors can find many of the amenities that would be standard in much larger communities. Pedasi has benefited from significant improvements in its infrastructure during the past 10 years: new roads, shopping options, an 18-room hospital with 24-hr urgent care, internet and cellular coverage, and schooling options.
