Description

SANTA MARIA OF LEUCA

Location CIARDO - FELLONICHE

Wonderful Villa called PAJARA DELLA FELICITA ', located 2 km from Santa Maria di Leuca, called DE FINIBUS TERRAE, the last fjord of Puglia land that wedges between the two seas, Adriatic and Ionian Sea, a few miles away from the Greek Islands. These can be reached in two hours of navigation.

This part of Apulia is known in the world, for the unique landscape of its kind and frequented by a luxury tourism, lover of landscape, culture, cuisine, sun and sea. Rocky peaks over the sea alternate with golden sandy beaches with crystal clear waters and a variety of colors ranging from blue to emerald green to blue.

The Salento is renowned for sunshine for 280 days a year.

The villa, built in the 80's, is named after an insistent building on the site, called Pajara (Trullo truncated tropical-stone cone, dating back to 1870), built next to it, eventually becoming a villa's room. The latter was made of living stone, typical of the place, and arranged on two levels, along with other buildings, one for Dependance, one for Laundry-Depot-Central Idrica, and one for Garage, plus a porch located Next to this, to park cars in the shade.

The villa, of 123 sqm covered area, is composed,

On the ground floor: from a Living room, sitting area with small fireplace, (cozy and ideal place to read a book), overlooking the Salento garden, hallway, bathroom, Kitchen-Tinello with low fireplace, bedroom made in the Pajara;

On the first floor: reachable from an internal staircase located in the living room, a hallway, 2 large double bedrooms and 1 large bathroom with shower.

The Dependance, of 24 sqm of covered area, consists of a large double bedroom with large bathroom with shower, as well as another outdoor shower behind, for when you come back from the sea.

Both the Villa and Dependance bedrooms have Hot-Cold Air Conditioners as well as Hot Air Thermos for the few days of winter.

Temperatures, in winter, hardly fall below 7 degrees centigrade, right in January or February. Winter is mild, and you can bathe the sea almost all year long. Definitely from March to November.

The Lavender-Warehouse-Central Wastewater, a 14 sqm covered area, houses the washing machine, artesian well water filtration system, fresh drinking water, and some wardrobes to deposit clothes and various lingerie.

The 40 sqm covered garage is used throughout the winter as a storage of garden furniture and tools, as well as a car to be kept in place for the summer time. Alongside this insists a porch for two cars, to be kept in the shade during the summer.

In front of the villa there is a arcade arcade with a stone bench, which is furnished with a table for breakfast in the summer. While side to side the villa insists on a pergola with adjacent a barbecue for lunches and dinners.

The property can be equipped with a maximum size of 4x10 or 5x8 mt, for a maximum of 40 sqm of water.

The property is equipped with links to the Public Water Network and the Public Sleeper.

The garden is lit in every part with spotlights scattered everywhere.

The entrance boulevard and various parts of the property are paved with live stone of the Opus Incerta type.

The walls of the villa and of the other buildings are made of bricks and are externally covered with dry stone, for a wall thickness ranging from 80 to 150 centimeters. It therefore ensures good thermal insulation. In the summertime you can enjoy the daytime singing cicadas and the night crickets. The garden offers a wide variety of typical Mediterranean plants, such as lentils, all kinds of flowers that bloom at all times of the year, fig trees, figs of India, Rosemary, Lemons, Mandarins, olive oil trees, Mimosa, and various aromatic plants.

It is set in a garden of 4830 square meters, consisting of a small olive grove, about 40 production plants and irrigated, from a forest of secular pine trees and Mediterranean scrubs, working, mixed with emerging rocks. The characteristic of this villa, while being close to the coastal road, is that it enjoys a fantastic and fabulous privacy, away from noises and with a sea view.

This is 170 meters away from the villa. And you can walk on foot through an ancient path, choosing the beach of round stone bowls, or the white sandy beach, depending on the tastes. Both unattractive and very characteristic, with a kiosk serving drinks and ice creams when needed.

Information: Geographical, Historical, Cultural

Salento (in Salento: Salentu, in Greek Σαλέντο Salénto), also known as the peninsula of Salento, is an Italian geographical region coinciding with the southern part of Puglia, between the Ionian Sea to the west and the Adriatic Sea to the east. It is the Italian boot boots.

The inhabitants of the area, which includes the entire province of Lecce, almost all that of Brindisi and part of that of Taranto, are distinguished above all by glottological characteristics compared to the rest of Apulia. Historically, Salento has been part of the ancient circus called Terra d'Otranto for many centuries.

Salento in messapico means "sea": Plinio confirms it, saying "salentinos to salo dicto" (see Greek hals, halos and Latin salum, sea)

Messapian language was the language spoken by the Messapi, an ancient Illyrian or anatolian population set up in southern Apulia.

The language, of Indo-European origin, was used in south-eastern Italy as well as by the Messapi, even the Hippies and the Peucezi [without source]. Today there are more than five thousand inscriptions (most locally or in person names) dating from the VI to the 1st century BC.

Messapian language decayed until it was extinguished after Salento was conquered by the Romans, who introduced the Latin.

The distance from SANTA MARIA DI LEUCA  at the Airport of Salento (BRINDISI) is approximately 130 km while the distance from the capital of Salento, that Lecce is 90 km away. CASTRIGNANO CAPE is only 2 km from Santa Maria di Leuca.
