The property is secluded, yet only minutes from the world famous surf break at Playa Venao. Nearby Isla Canas Wildlife Refuge deserves special note. The island, renowned for being a sea turtle nesting sanctuary, was designated as protected area in 1994. Only 20 minutes to the west is the town of Tonosi, and 40 minutes to the north and east is Pedasi. From Pedasi one can then take a 30-minute flight to Panama City, or continue driving 30-minutes north to the provincial capital of Las Tablas. Further up the road is Chitre, a large industrial, urban center that offers shopping, restaurants, a movie theater, a large public hospital and a number of high-quality private medical practices.
The Playa Venao area is served by reliable high-speed internet and Starlink service is also available. Schooling options are limited but growing. The area's most popular choice among both expat and local families is Manglares Discovery School , which since 2018 has offered from preschool up to Grade 6. Public school is also available in nearby Canas, Tonosi, and Pedasi. Private academies are available in Las Tablas and Chitre.
